 I began my Law Enforcement career in the Iosco County Sheriff’s Office in 1995 as a part time corrections Officer.  In 1996 I graduated from Northern MI University and attended their Police Academy.  In 1996 I became a certified Police Officer and was hired as a Road patrol Deputy in Iosco County.  Throughout the last 24 years in Law Enforcement I have been assigned as a road Patrol Deputy, School Liaison Deputy, Township Deputy, K-9 Officer, Road Patrol Sergeant and Captain/Jail Administrator.  I believe I have a unique perspective with personally working all aspects at the Iosco County Sheriff’s Office.

I am hard working dedicated criminal Justice professional with 37 years of Law Enforcement experience.   I have had a comprehensive range of experience and formal training in diverse topics in addition to an advanced university degree.  I have extensive experience conducting criminal investigations, interviewing victims, witnesses and suspects.  Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills developed while meeting the challenges of the criminal justice profession, including interpersonal and ”people” skills.   I have considerable experience in public speaking and presentation skills.  Professionally I have been involved in personnel recruitment, background investigations, training and development.  Integrity, honesty and respect are basic foundations which I live and work by.  

A law enforcement agency must have integrity, honesty, respect, accountability and proper leadership for it to be considered professional.
